Stephen Piper

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Stephen graduated with a BS in Therapeutic Recreation from Grand Valley State University in 2007. He has worked with populations including adult brain and spinal cord injury, geriatrics, parks and recreation programs as well as home and community recreation programs. Stephen is also a contingent recreation therapist with the Detroit Medical Center's Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Novi. He has experience in aquatics and fitness modalities, horticulture therapy, community reintegration training and therapeutic use of common board and card games. He specializes in fitness programs and wheelchair athletics. 

Stephen enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing on a recreational softball team, playing golf and other recreational sports, watching movies and going to parks. Stephen believes that recreational therapy helps to aid people in getting their lives back and that all individuals deserve to live a full and rich life.
