Samantha graduated from Eastern Michigan University in August, 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree, double majoring in Recreational Therapy and Psychology, and she became a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist in October, 2014. In 2020 Samantha completed two programs; becoming a 200-hour registered yoga teacher and a certified health coach.
Samantha has been with HCRT since February 2016. In addition to this, she has experience treating adults and children on inpatient and outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation units with focus on traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury diagnoses. For several years, Samantha provided mental health treatment to individuals on an inpatient behavioral health unit; where she also received training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and subsequently taught DBT Coping Skills. Samantha is an advocate for the importance of accessible and suitable mental health support, nutrition, exercise, recreation, and lifelong learning to maintain holistic health & wellness.
Samantha is passionate about empowering her clients to achieve their goals and live balanced and joyful lives. Her favorite leisure activities include relaxing at home with her husband and two rescue dogs, traveling, reading, hiking & kayaking, cooking & baking, gardening, and arts & crafts.
