Nicole Wagner

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Nicole graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2017 with her Bachelors in Therapeutic Recreation. She also became certified through NCTRC that same year. Nicole has worked in a variety of settings with multiple populations. While at Eastern she completed her internship at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Detroit, working with TBI/SCI population. She assisted with the adapted Sports program through Sports Ability as well. 

Upon graduating college she took a job and moved to Jacksonville Florida, to work at North East Florida State Hospital. She worked with patients with serious mental health conditions/substance use. She taught group and individual therapy sessions focused on coping skills, relapse plans, symptoms, triggers, substance abuse and community reintegrating. Nicole instructed many students and planned special events during her time here. After one year she was offered a position back in Michigan at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry, where she continued to work in Mental Health. She has worked there for 6 years. Nicole has a passion for helping others and enjoys working with her clients find joy through accessible recreation/leisure opportunities. 

In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, walking her dog, yoga, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
