Mandy graduated from Grand Valley State University with a BS in Therapeutic Recreation and a Minor in Psychology in 2001.  She is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. She worked at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital as a Recreational Therapist for over 10 years in the rehabilitation department and in the traumatic brain injury day services department. She taught aerobics at numerous facilities and in the Women's Health Center for over 7 years at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital. Mandy was a personal trainer at the Saline Recreation Center for over a year. Mandy has presented at a Michigan Therapeutic Recreation Association conference and at an Ohio Therapeutic Recreation Association conference.  Mandy enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. She volunteers for her church, schools and for the local 4-H club. Mandy enjoys exercising, scrapbooking, and gardening. Mandy believes that being a recreational therapist is one of the most rewarding jobs to have. This job helps her to provide clients with the tools to be successful in their leisure and community activities to increase their self esteem and improve their quality of life.
