Isabella Horst
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
Isabella graduated with her bachelors in therapeutic recreation from Indiana Institute of Technology in May of 2019. She furthered her education, graduating with a masters in Psychology with a focus in counseling from Indiana Institute of Technology in January of 2021. She has experience with a multitude of different populations such as: traumatic brain injury, adaptive sports, developmental disabilities, pediatrics, mental health and substance abuse.
Isabella completed her internship at Turnstone Center for Adults and Children's Disabilities in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She worked with multiple different populations, but focused heavily on adaptive sports. She instructed sports and tournaments for individuals with physical disabilities, putting on multiple events with over 300 athletes. Isabella then went on to be a recreational therapist at FLOW recreation in Fort Wayne, Indiana, working primarily in the community with individuals who have developmental disabilities of all ages. She worked at FLOW for about 3 years, and moved to Ohio to become a pediatric behavioral specialist. She started this program from the ground up, implementing different behavioral treatment plans and goals for her pediatric caseload for teachers to implement. She enjoys attending conferences and furthering her education this way.
In her free time, Isabella enjoys spending time with her 2 children and husband, cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins, running and traveling.
