Gavin C. Carter

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Gavin graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science in the field of Therapeutic Recreation in August of 2013. He became nationally certified in January of 2014. He has experience within inpatient rehabilitation, community reintegration, fitness participation, stress management, and adapted cycling. As a certified recreational therapist, Gavin specializes in working with individuals with physical, cognitive, and/or developmental disabilities. He also specializes in adapting recreational and leisure activities to fit the needs of the individual. His main philosophy of practice is to place focus upon abilities of the individual being treated and not upon the disability.

He enjoys aquatics, cycling, camping, spending time with family and friends, playing with his two dogs, and reading. At this time he is in the process of becoming a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.
