Rose Brokaw

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Rose received her Bachelor’s of Science from Michigan State University in 1987 with a major in Therapeutic Recreation and a minor in Psychology. Rose has experience working with a variety of populations including adults and children with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, developmental disabilities, substances abuse, and mental health disorders. Rose is passionate about helping clients to find ways to live life to the fullest and find joy in everything they do.

Aside from her work at Home and Community Recreation Therapy she is also employed at Hawthorne Center, Children’s State Psychiatric Hospital. In the past she has worked as a therapist and manager at Havenwyck Hospital, Westland Parks and Rec, and the ARC of Wayne/Westland.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, biking, yoga, and volunteering in her community.
