Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Brooke graduated with a Bachelor’s of Applied Arts from Central Michigan University in Therapeutic Recreation in 2015. Brooke has experience working with a variety of populations including: traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, pediatrics, and mental health.

Brooke completed an internship at the University of Michigan’s inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric unit. Brooke also completed a second internship at DMC’s Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan and has strong experience in aquatic therapy and community re-integration. Brooke currently serves on the summer board for the Michigan Adaptive sports organization and helps coordinates events such as adaptive water skiing and kayaking. She also volunteers and has experience with wheelchair and adaptive tennis. Brooke hopes to utilize the knowledge she has gained from her experiences to not only touch the lives of the individuals she works with but improve their overall quality of life.

In her free time, Brooke enjoys spending time with friends and family, fitness, traveling, spending time outdoors, playing with my dog and two cats, cooking, and reading.
