Abbey graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. Before finding the field of recreational therapy, Abbey attended Western Michigan University to pursing Occupational Therapy. She completed her internship at Henry Ford Kingswood Hospital working with adults and children struggling with mental illness. Abbey has worked with other populations as well including geriatric, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain, and spinal cord injuries. 

Abbey has 8+ years of aquatic experience teaching swim lessons, lifeguarding, and competitive swimming. Abbey found a love of swimming when she was young and wants to continue to show others all the benefits of using the pool. 

In her free time, Abbey enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending concerts, taking care of her plants, traveling, and making earrings for her small business. When not working, Abbey’s mini-Berne doodle, Rae, keeps her active with lots of zoomies.
